Frequently asked questions.

What can I expect in the first session?

The first session is about getting to know each other. We'll talk about what brings you to therapy, what you'd like to work on, and any questions or concerns you have. It’s a space to go at your own pace—there’s no pressure to share everything right away.

How long are sessions, and how often will we meet?

Sessions are typically 53 minutes long. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, but frequency can be adjusted depending on your needs and goals.

Do you offer in-person or telehealth appointments?

I offer both! In-person sessions take place at my office in Sycamore, IL. Telehealth sessions are available for clients located anywhere in Illinois via a secure, confidential video platform.

Is therapy confidential?

Yes. What you share in therapy stays between us, with a few legal exceptions related to safety (which I’ll go over during our first session). Your privacy and trust are very important to me.

Do you work with parents of teens in therapy?

Yes, I include parents and caregivers in the process thoughtfully and collaboratively, while also protecting the teen’s privacy. I’ll always keep lines of communication open and check in about how we can work together to support your child.
